His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani’s Sha’Hir (Amer) won his second Group title by imposing himself in the DIAR Stockholm Arabian Cup (Gr3 PA), at Bro Park, Sweden on Tuesday, 27 June 2017. Ridden by Mickaël Forest, Sha’Hir won the 1,800-metre race easily. Mrs Maria Hagman-Eriksson's Jaldi Karo was the runner up. He was trained by Mrs Maria Hagman-Eriksson and ridden by Per-Anders Gråberg. Landgoed Waterland's Athlete Del Sol was third. He was trained by Miss Karin R. van den Bos and ridden by Carlos Lopez.

“He was very impressive”, explained Sha’Hir’s trainer François Rohaut, “I don’t think he will go to Newbury because I have better horses for the month of July. Sha’Hir will go to Deauville, like the horses who are aiming for Newbury, and we will see how he is. We never know; he might go; who knows! We will think about it when it’s the right time.”

On the same day, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani’s Rawah (Amer) was also a winner. Trained by François Rohaut and ridden by Mickaël Forest, as well, she won the DIAR Arabian Fillies and Mares Turf. Al Nujaifi Racing LTD’s Hurra came second. She was trained by Mrs Pia Höiom and ridden by Shane Karlsson. Yas Horse Racing Management LLC’s Maolie was third. She was trained by Miss Karin R. van den Bos and ridden by Fanny Olsson.

The three winners of the Purebred Arabian races held on Tuesday at Bro Park qualified for the Dubai International Arabian Races to be run on at Newbury 30 July.
