Strong showing on second day of Qatar International Arabian Horse Show

Second day of the 26th Qatar International Arabian Horse Show 2017 saw more of the strong competition that has come to be recognised with the competition.

The three day competition, which is being held at the Indoor Arena of Al Shaqab, will conclude on Sunday, March 12, 2017.

On Saturday, in class 4B for Yearling Colts, Al Shaqab's HAGRAS AL SHAQAB topped the group having collected 91.9 points. Al Muawd Stud's GENERAL (91.4) edged out SAFWAN NAYAAR, owned by Abdullatif Ahmad Alkandari, by 0.1 points for the second spot.

In class 6 for 3yo Colts, Al Shaqab-owned horse was on top yet again, with MEAID AL SHAQAB amassing 91.9 points, beating SHARAF AL SHAHANIA, owned by Al Shahaniya Stud, by one full point. SAUD AM, owned by HH Prince Abdullah Bin Fahad Al Saud, was beaten to third by a narrow 0.1 point difference.

Joining the long list of ladies who won their categories for Al Shaqab on the first day of the show, FARAH AL SHAQAB comfortably topped Class 7 for 4-6yo mares. CAP BIANCA (91.6), owned by Alkhashab Stud, and Al Sraiya Stud's AL JAZEERA (91.4) completed the top three.

Al Nasser Stud's FARIDA AL NASSER impressed the judges for her 92.3 point haul in Class 8 for 7-10yo mares, while Sheikh Abdullah Bin Naser Al Thani's MARGHOBAT AL NAIF and Alrajhia Stud's OFW ANA finished second and third with 91.5 and 91.3 points respectively.

Class 9 for Mares, 11yo and over, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Ali Al Thani owned TEHAMA BALLALINA won with whopping haul of 94.1 points. Nasser Mohammed Mesfer Al Hajri's WASA had 92.8 points for her second place, while Al Muawd Stud's WKRA also made it to the class podium with 91.4 points.
