Al Shaqab Racing’s AJAWEED continued her recent run of good form when landing her first success in the Prix Ourour, a Listed 2000-metre race reserved to three-year-old pure-bred Arabians, at Toulouse, France, on Saturday, 30 November, evening. The Thomas Fourcy-trained grey filly of AL MAMUN MONLAU was settled towards the rear in the early stages as TEXANE DU LOUP (TM FRED TEXAS) set a decent early tempo on the heavy ground. With numerous runners already showing distress signals on the turn for home, the future winner made easy progress around the outside of the field. Once straightened up for home, AJAWEED quickly distanced herself from her rivals and went on to score easily a six and a half-length victory under a hands and heels ride from her jockey, Julien Augé. The Mme JF. Bernard-trained BINT ALBAHAR was second under Guillaume Guedj-Gay. The O. Trigodet-trained JOSKIO was a further quarter of a length behind in third under Mickael Forest.

AJAWEED was bred by Al Shaqab Racing and she is a daughter of Al Shaqab owned stallion AL MAMUN MONLAU(MUNJIZ), who stands at Haras du Grand Courgeon, France.
