DEEMA AL NASSER and SHAKRAN BU THAILA shine in Qatar National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show for Individual Owners

Mesfer Mohammed Mesfer Al Hajri’s DEEMA AL NASSER was awarded Champion Mare in the Qatar National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show for Individual Owners for the second straight year, while Abdulhadi Mana Al Hajri’s SHAKRAN BU THAILA was adjudged Champion Stallion.

In the third edition of the two-day horse show, which concluded at Al Shaqab on Saturday, January 13, the mare had made it to the championship round having finished second behind SAFIRA AL DOHUL of Al Nawasi Stud in Class 7B for 4-6yo mares earlier in the day.

SAFIRA AL DOHUL had to settle for silver in the championship round, while RB GHALIAH, third in Class 7B, picked up bronze for owner Mohammed Ali Al Kawari.

Abdulhadi Mana Al Hajri’s SHAKRAN BU THAILA, made up for his second place finish in the preliminary rounds, picking up gold in the championship round for stallions.

He had finished second behind Jassim Kayed Al Muhannadi’s MOUNTASER LAFFAN in Class 10 for 4-6yo stallions, with Al Marroona Stud’s NEBRAS AL WAAB in third.

In the evening’s medal round, NEBRAS AL WAAB had to settle for silver, while Mohammed Ali Al Kawari’s MEDAN ELALYA, runner up in Class 11&12 for 7yo and older stallions, won bronze.

Yearling filly TOYA AL ROWDHA, owned by Mohammad Abdul Rahman Ali Saeeda Al Nuaimi, was crowned the Champion Junior Filly on Saturday, having made it to the medal round with a second place in Class 1.

TOYA AL ROWDHA beat two 3yo fillies, Class 3A winner BLMIRA AL SHMOKH and Class 3B winner AMINAH AL WAAB, to gold.

2yo SA MANSOUR, owned by Al Hazm Stud, was adjudged the Champion Junior Colt on Saturday. The colt had topped Class 5 for 2yo colts, and beat JULAIBEEB AL FAHED, runner-up in Class 6 for 3yo colts, for gold, while yearling colt RB GHAZI picked up bronze.

Earlier on Saturday, Saef Mohammed Al Hajri’s EHSAN AL SHAHANIA collected 91.38 points for her win in Class 7A for 4-6yo mares, while Mohammad Abdul Rahman Ali Saeeda Al Nuaimi’s MAJEDA AL ROWDHA (90.63) and Al Safwa Stud’s AMEERA AL SAFWA (90.25) completed the top three.

In one of the closely contested classes, Abdulla Khalifa Jassim Al Kuwari’s LAHLOOBA AL BADEIA and Al Jood Stud’s MAGIDAAS PREVUE RCA were locked in at 90.50 points; however, the former took the win on Move. Al Nawasi Stud’s DHS AISHA was third with 89.63 points.

Abdulla Salem Al Hajri’s SALOMEH made it to the championship round by winning Class 9 for 11yo and older mares with 91.75 points. Al Marroona Stud’s BT MASCARENA (90.50) and Mohammed Ali Al Kawari’s RODA AL WAAB (90.38) were second and third respectively.

HE Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, Al Shaqab Breeding and Show Manager, Eng. Osama Omer Al-Dafea, owner of Al Marroona Stud, Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Naama, QREC General Coordinator of Horse Show Festival and Show Director, and Mohammed Mubarak Al Sulaiti, former Al Shaqab Breeding and Show Manager, presented the trophies to the winners.

The Show was judged by a panel of ECAHO judges from Germany, Belgium, Greece, Palestine, Norway and Netherlands.
