Representing the colours of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, THE MANAGER took his first win in the Prix de Longchamp, a maiden over a mile and a quarter at Argentan, France, on Saturday 28 September 2019. The bay colt of CHARM SPIRIT was ridden for the first time by Gabriel Le Devehat. He was quick away to sit up near the pace, on the flanks of the pace setter, TURKISTAN EXPRESS. In the back straight, he stepped up his pace to take the lead and quickly pulled clear, gaining ground throughout the final turn to enter the home straight with a five-length lead. THE MANAGER, who is trained by Henri Alex Pantall, held his lead easily, crossing the line half a length in front of the runner-up. The Qazaqstan Racing Club-owned and L. Loisel-trained TURKISTAN EXPRESS was second under Rosario Mangione. The Benjamin Teboul-owned and Y. Barberot-trained MIXOLOGIST was further one and a half lengths behind in third under Jefferson Smith.

THE MANAGER was bred by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani in whose colours his sire, CHARM SPIRIT, also ran. He is the first foal out of SCANDALOUS, a full sister to SALUTINO, who was placed in the Gr1 Preis von Europa and Deutschland-Preis.
