The connections of the mighty ENABLE have announced that she will be back to training in 2020. The five-year-old mare came up short in her bid for a historic third Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe earlier this month. Having landed the coveted title twice in 2017 and 2018, recording her name in the legendary roll of honour of the World’s Best Horse Race, ENABLE’s return could be for a bid for a third crack in Europe’s richest race. According to her connections, ENABLE has come out of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in good form and will not race again this year.
The John Gosden-trained mare finished runner-up with Frankie Dettori in the 2019 renewal of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. That defeat ended a 12-race winning streak for the ENABLE-Dettori duo, which included two King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes, a Coral-Eclipse and a Breeders’ Cup Turf. Dettori has been very elated with the return decision. “My girl is staying in training for next year. I can’t wait. Come on enable!” he has written on Twitter.
