QREC Equine Veterinary Hospital

Our Mission is to give the best veterinary and medical service for the health of the racing horses in Qatar and specially at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), to improve the welfare of all horses in Qatar and to serve and engage all the community (owners and trainers). The QREC-Equine Veterinary Hospital provides its services directly on the racetrack on race days. All owners and trainers benefit from the services of the Equine Veterinary Hospital.Our Vision is to deliver exceptional the best diagnostic and veterinary service, to organize educational initiatives and to become the leader of the Equine healthcare in Qatar

The QREC Equine Veterinary Hospital is open 24 hours and 7 days a week.The Official working hours are from 7:00 am to 02:00pm from Sunday to Thursday. After that, the staff are also available in shift duties between 02:00pm and 07:00 am.

Opening hours:

The communication between the hospital and owners / trainers is by appointment and by phone (direct phone call or/andWhatsApp). For appointment, you can contact Dr. Hosain Abbara :+974 55529827 .We also communicate with owners and trainers them via their grooms or the individuals in charge of their horses . In an emergency, the horse in question is presented to the hospital directly for the welfare of the horse.

All medical service, the room and medicine are not free. The owner/trainer should pay all the fees using a credit card after the horses is discharged.

Fees:

Before examining any horse, its passport is requested, and a consent form should be filled and signed by the person responsible for the horse.

Al zubara FARM
Breeding service

Our mission is to give the best breeding service for all owners in Qatar. This service should include the health of our stallion and the welfare of the mare and the foal in Qatar. Al Zubara Breeding Farm has a strategic location in the north of Qatar and the farm is well designed to offer a good breeding service.

Our vision is to provide a good quality of breeding for mares in Qatar.

Opening hours:

Official working hours are from 7:45 am to 01: 00 pm from Sunday to Thursday and an appointment needs to be made in advance. The staff are available in shift duties for emergencies. The Breeding season extends from January to the end of May.

Fees:

Some services, the medicine and the room are not free. The owner/trainer should pay all the fees using a credit card after the mare is discharged. They should come to QREC hospital for pay all invoices. (no payment system is available in Al-Zubara)

Stallions

All the stallion for the reproduction seasons are already on the site of Al Zubara Before sending a mare for covering, all owners should submit the relevant documents of the mare (as listed below) and should specify which stallion they want for covering. (at least 24 hours before sending the mare)

Mare’s required documents:
  • - Passport and microchip number copy
  • - Vaccination board copy
  • - Blood result certificate

After all these documents are received, the owner should contact Dr. Khalid Abarra and they will decide together an appointment.

The breeding service is only accepted by appointment by direct call between the owner and the Veterinarian.

A consent form should be filled and signed by the person responsible upon the arrival of the mare.
